The recent ruling by the US Department of Commerce imposes tariffs of up to 50% on steel used in e-bikes, including e-cargo bikes and trainers. This affects import codes such as 8711.60.00, increasing costs for manufacturers and consumers alike. Notably, e-bikes imported from the UK will incur a 25% tariff on steel content, while those from China face additional tariffs. This regulatory shift could reshape the micromobility landscape significantly.
